ENSURE YOUR BUILDING ENVELOPE ADHERES TO THE BOSTON INSPECTION ORDINANCE 9-9.12
As described in Ordinance 9-9.12 of the City of Boston Municipal Code, occupied buildings over 70 feet high must be inspected every five years (once per year for unoccupied buildings) for condition, movement, deterioration, and water tightness. The inspection must be overseen and certified by a licensed Inspectional Services Department architect or engineer.

The PIERCE Facade Inspections Checklist
We utilize a variety of leading industry techniques to inspect your building’s facade for waterproofing failures, fall hazards, deteriorated materials, and more. Move forward with clarification on necessary repairs, recommendations for preventative projects, and peace of mind that your building is safe and up to code.
Historical Data Analysis
The building’s maintenance and repair history is analyzed to identify recurring issues and qualify the structural integrity over time.
Close-Up Inspection
An expert conducts a close-up inspection of all significant building exterior components.
Water Damage Survey
Interior areas with known leaks are surveyed for water damage.
LIFECYCLE360 Report
A LIFECYCLE360 Report details the findings, including geotagged images of the building’s condition, in an easily accessible online portal.
Remediation Plan
Our team meets with you to review the report and create a plan for repairs, project phasing, and budgeting.
Complete Facade Inspections
We know it’s nearly impossible to keep tabs on every square inch of your building’s envelope. You’re great at inspecting the interior of your building, but you can only inspect the ground level of your building facade.
During Inspections, our trained LIFECYCLE360 technicians use our proprietary technology to provide location-specific data and images of potential problem areas on your building. We’ll document any failed sealant, deteriorated mortar joints, spalling masonry or concrete, and any safety hazard we find.
At the end of the scheduled inspection, you’ll gain access to your LIFECYCLE360 portal and report where you can review our findings, recommendations, and request budget numbers and scopes.

PIERCE sent some guys over right away, on a Saturday, to shovel off the roof above our elevator machine room and stop a leak that was causing large volumes of water to get into the elevator equipment and down to the main lobby. It saved us a ton of money in elevator repairs. I really appreciate the response time and PIERCE’S ability to help with random jobs like this one.
